How We Source and Share Opportunities for Creators
Our Updated Editorial Guidelines
At Content is Queen, our mission is to help underrepresented creators build sustainable audio careers. We do this by curating and sharing free opportunities through the Content is Queen Marketplace.
We launched the Marketplace to address the access gap in the audio industry. We aim to make it easier for creators to discover grants, commissions, awards, development schemes and other opportunities. The Marketplace is free to access and use, and exists solely to support creators across the industry.
Recently, questions were raised about how some of the listings on our Marketplace are sourced. We have taken this seriously and used it as an opportunity to review and strengthen our editorial processes. Below, we’re outlining our approach to sourcing, sharing and crediting, in the interest of transparency and accountability.
How do we source opportunities?
We source all opportunities directly from the original organisations, commissioning platforms or programme organisers. These public calls are typically shared on the organisation's or a company's website or social media.
When we come across an opportunity from another source, such as a social post or newsletter, we always go to the original source to verify details and obtain the correct information before we share anything with our community.
Our Editorial Approach
Our external Marketplace listings use the organisation's own language, as we prioritise accuracy. We do not have the resources to rewrite or reinterpret opportunities and do not want to risk misrepresenting the organisation's wording, eligibility criteria or intent. Every listing includes a direct link to the organisation's source so that creators can go straight to the original page to apply unless it’s managed by the organisation through the Marketplace. We do not summarise or rewrite opportunity listings using AI tools, and we do not reword content from third-party newsletters or directories.
This is a conscious and deliberate editorial choice. We believe that clarity and transparency serve creators best.
Our updated internal checks
As part of our editorial refresh, we have introduced new checks, including:
A clear sourcing protocol for every listing
Verification of details directly from the organisation's website or contact
A final review before publication to ensure all listings meet our internal standards
We’ve also created a direct line of communication for any feedback or concerns about Marketplace content.
If you spot an issue, get in touch
We welcome concerns from creators or organisations if something does
not look or feel right. You can reach us at editorial@contentisqueen.org.
We will investigate promptly and make changes where appropriate. We believe in working with, not against, the community.
Want to Share an Opportunity?
If you are a funder, commissioner or organisation looking to reach underrepresented talent, we would love to hear from you. We welcome direct submissions and are happy to publish eligible opportunities for free on the Marketplace. Please email us at editorial@contentisqueen.org with your opportunity and a link to the original call or application page.
Our Commitment
Content is Queen exists to serve creators. Our community deserves access to high-quality, trustworthy opportunities, and we are committed to sharing them responsibly and transparently.
This is our ongoing commitment to you. We will continue to operate in good faith, stay open to feedback, and ensure our practices uphold the values we stand for.
